This is the second week of the first period of SAIC's fiscal year, which is when we have to finish closing the books on the previous fiscal year, and so it's about the busiest week of the year for anyone connected to finance, which means me.
It is also the week that the Juniata alumni association sent out my e-mail to all alumni living in Dauphin and Cumberland counties asking them to help host choir students on April 4.
It's been a busy week.
The good part is, it means I have put in so many hours already that by the time I work a full day tomorrow and a few hours on Friday morning, I will have logged a bit of overtime by the time I leave at noon on Friday to pick up Katy from the Harrisburg Amtrak station. And then I get to spend my afternoon hanging out with my cousin and Aunt Ninny, showing them my apartment, and having lunch, to which I believe Ninny has promised to treat us. It will be lots of fun!
I can also show Katy the prosthetic tit I am knitting for my mom-in-law, who recently became short one tit of her own. Seriously, read the pattern, it's hilarious, but also completely legit. All the women I've shown so far have been fascinated, but since Katy knitted the womb from the same site years ago for her mom-in-law (who was, of course, short a womb of her own, altho the knitted one is probably slightly less useful than the replacement tit), I think Katy will appreciate the knitted tit more than most. I really need to keep working on it, but I'm in the middle of the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman, just finished the second book, and I'm finding them much more amazingly wonderful this time thru than I did the first time, probably because I have a religious studies minor under my belt now, and I just can't seem to put it down! I recommend them highly to anyone with even a low tolerance for the fantasy genera. Really great stuff.
